About D.B.I.

After much prayer and soul searching, Pastor Lovelace sought to establish Danieltown Bible Institute in 2013. After teaching The Book of Jude and a seeming lack of support, Pastor Lovelace, shelved the ideas until the Lord’s Leadership. Thus in late 2015 Pastor Lovelace began to consider re-opening DBI. After prayer, fasting and consultation with Danieltown Baptist Church members and prospective students, A Board of Directors was constituted, Constitution and Bylaws were adopted and the paperwork was prepared for Danieltown Bible Institute to be officially established in the State of North Carolina.

In February 2016 the NC Secretary of State, Elaine Marshall approved DBI’s Articles of Incorporation and documents were filed with the North Carolina Board of Regents for Exemption from Licensure.

Most Institutions of Higher Learning require licensing and costly fees. Pursuant to the North Carolina General Assembly Statute § 116-15 (d), Danieltown Bible Institute is exempt from State Licensing.

(NC ST § 116-15 (d):   Exemption of Institutions Relative to Religious Education. – Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, no institution shall be subject to licensure under this section with respect to post-secondary degree activity based upon a program of study, equivalent experience, or achievement testing the institutionally planned objective of which is the attainment of a degree in theology, divinity, or religious education or in any other program of study, equivalent experience, or achievement testing that is designed by the institution primarily for career preparation in a religious vocation. This exemption shall be extended to any institution with respect to each program of study, equivalent experience, and achievement test that the institution demonstrates to the satisfaction of the Board should be exempt under this subsection.)

Be that as it may, Danieltown Bible Institute’s Constitution, By-Laws and Degree Programs have been confirmed by the University of North Carolina Board of Regents for operation under the State General Statutes, as we seek to ensure a quality education here at DBI.

A degree awarded from Danieltown Bible Institute covers the major taken with that degree. A student or potential student must understand that credits taken in one type program may or may not transfer to another type program at another receiving institution.

Persons whose professional career goals require a certification by a state or federal governmental agency should check in advance to determine whether a degree from Danieltown Bible Institute would be acceptable. Individuals needing to earn a regionally accredited degree in one of our disciplines may wish to investigate comparable programs at more traditional Institutions accredited by a regional association recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Danieltown Bible Institute is a non-secular Institution. It is our sole purpose to expand and prepare our students in the study of the Bible, Theology and for Christian related ministries.
